2007 - 2008 National Retail Manager at Ultraline (South Africa)

  • Promoted from Strategic Business Manager at Duraline (now Ultraline), I led a team of retail managers and salespeople in the Just Paint concept stores spread across South Africa, away from a price and product orientated competitive strategy toward a more holistic marketing understanding, and ultimately increased revenue and profitability. In this role I prepared and managed large annual sales and cost and regularly updated forecasts as part of the company's planning process.

  • In my positions at O’Grady’s I got the opportunity to turn around a regional company with declining sales and rampant spending. Ultimately, I was able to increase revenue by 29% and net profit by 37% in a three year period. In order to do so I implemented a range of new imported products, innovative point-of-purchase marketing techniques, and partnerships with interior designers to grow our market segment. Simultaneously I streamlined our production and delivery processes to save costs and ensure consistent quality.
