In this role I prepared and managed large annual sales and cost and regularly updated forecasts as part of the company's planning process.

These measures were practical and effective and ensured the turnaround of the retail profitability of all Just Paint stores. 2004 - 2007 General Manager, O’Grady’s (South Africa)

  • In my positions at O’Grady’s I got the opportunity to turn around a regional company with declining sales and rampant spending. Ultimately, I was able to increase revenue by 29% and net profit by 37% in a three year period. In order to do so I implemented a range of new imported products, innovative point-of-purchase marketing techniques, and partnerships with interior designers to grow our market segment. Simultaneously I streamlined our production and delivery processes to save costs and ensure consistent quality.

  • “Jean-Paul was required not only to manage the line function of an entire production plant, but he was also expected, among other things, to manage multiple projects simultaneously under budget and time constraints, cultivate and strengthen client relationships, manage the marketing of O'Grady's on a national level, develop internal systems and procedures, develop new products and services, and think creatively. He not only fulfilled but exceeded the expectations in each of these very important functions. It is my belief that he will succeed in any undertaking largely because of his determination to accomplish his goals with integrity.”
